ABOUT:

The video essay explores archives as living interfaces between climate science, memory, and imagination. Bringing together ship logbooks, meteorological records, colonial image archives, and local ecological knowledges, the work reflects on how histories of data production shape contemporary climate imaginaries. Through a polyphonic narration, it examines the entanglements of scientific observation, colonial legacies, and more-than-human relations. Shells become central witnesses within the film: carriers of weather, time, and ecological memory that challenge human-centered perspectives on knowledge and history. The project is part of an ongoing artistic research into climate literacies, non-Western cosmologies, and plural ways of knowing weather, time, and ecology.
